About Us
Background
Dock Workers Union was founded in 1954 and is a democratic organization. According to the Union’s constitution, the main objective for its formation was to secure the complete organization in the Union of all workers employed in the Port sector. It is affiliated to the Central Organization of Trade Unions, Kenya (COTU-K) and the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF).

To provide leadership and champion activities in order to realize the goals of workers’ welfare in the port community.

A leading workers organization in the pursuit of welfare and committed to the virtues of fairness, democracy, socio-economic and cultural development of the port workers community.
Scope of Representation
Dock Workers Union represents unionizable employees working in the port sector i.e. Kenya Ports Authority.
